Family Focused Program

At the Heart of America Seminary we care about the needs of family time versus class time; full time work versus part time; and the need of time for involvement in church activities and Christian fellowship.

Often, the family of a student is left out of the educational equation. Long hours away from the family, meager salaries, demanding schedules, and lack of contact with church are the realities for the average seminary student. At Heart of America, we have the answer to these serious, and potentially ministry-ending, complications.

First, Heart of America is an integral part of Tri-City Baptist Church. By this, we mean that all students are provided time to go to church; in fact, they and their families are expected to be actively engaged in the church. The preaching provides foundational truths that keep the whole family refreshed, focused, and challenged. All ages enjoy this supportive ministry of love, and the church family shows its appreciation for the seminarian’s chosen road of preparation for service.

We also protect family time. Certain nights of the week are kept free from church activities. We want these times to be free for all our families to strengthen the family bond which is not only essential to successful completion of the seminary experience, but also essential for life-long ministry.

In addition, church families become involved with seminary families. The members of Tri-City consider the seminary to be an important ministry, one deserving their support and encouragement. Just think of it as a family away from home, and you are exactly in the frame of mind for completing seminary days at Heart of America.

Although nothing can totally prevent the stress of academic preparation and fulfillment, there is help for family fatigue during the stress. The answer is Tri-City Baptist Church’s focus on caring for the whole family while educating the seminarian.
