Work Opportunities for Seminarians

It is always difficult to go to school and support a family. This can be so demanding that some seminarians opt to stay at home and take courses through an on-line source. Online courses can be helpful, but these take away from the mentoring that an on-campus program provides. Because young men want the mentoring impact, they sometimes take on a daytime school schedule, a schedule which demands difficult work hours. What is the answer to this dilemma?

Heart of America believes that sacrifice is noble element, but when taken to the extreme it can lead to family breakdown. The sacrifice in the seminarian’s personal comfort should not be detrimental to family members’ lives. Therefore, Heart of America offers two solutions. Our program offers a class schedule convenient to work, family needs, and job opportunities. Classes are offered on Saturday mornings and on weekday evenings. Heart of America helps seminarians obtain jobs which traditionally have provided good wages to seminarians so that they can provide for their family’s needs.

As you consider your plans for seminary and family maintenance consider this: the class schedules will allow you to work during the day in normal hours. The schedules will allow you to use Saturday mornings regularly and week-nights only sparingly. This way the program is family-friendly and work-friendly.

Also, consider that the graduates of Heart of America have created a strong testimony in many companies in the Kansas City area. These companies seek out our students during their academic program. Most often, our students are employed for their entire seminary career.
